Being Indian

As I stand here in front of you,

Let's not talk about something you already know,

Let's not talk about how great we Indians are,

Let's reflect a bit of tradition that is ours

Over the course of thousands of years,

Our mother land went through a lot of smiles & tears,

From the intelligence of our mathematicians to the bravery of the soldiers,

From the riches of our heritage to the mixture of our cultures,

There are endless things to discuss about,

Endless thoughts running throughout

But I wasn't asked to discuss all this,

'Cause most of you have it on your fingertips,

I was here to share our Indian pride,

How all of us must have enjoyed this ride,

From the stories we've heard of our Independence struggle,

To the CWG's criticism & appreciation juggle,

I'm sure we all had that big smile on our face,

When our nation came 2nd in the medal race,

The Patriotic feeling's not easy to explain,

It's not something we could lose or gain,

All we can show is that we're a part of this One Nation,

One big happy family of over a billion summation,

To stand by our mates in every situation,

That's what's been passed through all our generation,

And that's what I associate with Being Indian!
