Sunshine

Let the old flame burn rough, The sunshine in your pocket’s buff, You've been there together before, This time you've got the power to explore Let your heart take over your mind, Turn a blind eye to wretched mankind, Hold his hand and take the leap, Let him know your faith runs deep You’ve looked into his eyes, Each time hating the goodbyes, Gazing beyond the surfaced darkness, Unearthing something not quite heartless Turning your days into melodies, Flying away like the little birdies, Don’t let the flame turn old again, Let the sunshine through without refrain

The Flame

The man doesn't care when he sees the flame, He just looks for another to blame, The man doesn't care if he gets burnt, There are still lessons he hasn't learnt The man doesn't care if the flame is real, Oblivious to its role of making him kneel, And once he’s in, he can’t go back, He’ll keep running till he's burnt coal black, The man doesn't care if the flame burns low, He believes in its afterglow, But the flame is never doused completely, Exerting its control over his life discreetly

Black Night

There's a fire in those eyes, Burning through the disguise, Of desire and deprivation, The civilization's abomination Generations lost into the wind, Without a hint of any chagrined, Unsuspecting of the blackbird's song, Oblivious of where they belong Unprepared for the impending judgement, Breaking away from the commitment, Staring into the deep end, Reflecting their failure to comprehend Desperately grasping onto the idea, Of the journey ending in euphoria, Into the lifeless dark black night, Where the end is nigh but not in sight

The Orion's Lap

Staring blankly into the Orion's lap, With his mind wandering beyond the map, Silence prevailing over the norm, Or is it the calm before the storm? The silenced voices in his head, Awaiting the moment they're behead, Is there anything left to come around? Or is it fate's final touchdown? The fire burning in those eyes, The ice hard at work to crystallise, The distant star falling through, Is that really her bidding adieu? Taking the leap of faith ahead, The voices hanging by the thread, Suspended mid air as it all flashes back, There is no more a fallback No more emptiness into the Orion's lap, Done away with the mousetrap, No regrets left behind, As he finally becomes one with mankind

Stories

Too many voices ringing in the background, Too many faces all around, So many stories to listen to, So many lives stuck in the queue None more recognizable than the other, As their lives keep pouring one after another, Everyone's running in the same direction, Just not together, there's no connection There's the sound of laughter in the air, The saltiness of tears in despair, The silence of the old man's prayer, The shrieking of the child narrating his nightmare But he's still living in the past, Hoping for the above stories to last, As he opens his eyes to the world around, Greeted with a herd of zombies to their screens bound!
