Poetry - The Escape Route

Who can say when your heart cries? Who can say what your smile hides?  Who can say what your eyes desire?  When the love's burnt up with the fire Who knows why you don't take that step? Who knows you're diverging the footsteps? Who knows there's no greener side? To his pent up rage inside Who will walk right by your side? Who will make it worth the ride? Who will handle your best and worst? When there's no love, you're just cursed Who can bring you back from solitary? Who can snap you back into reality? Who can teach you how to love again? Only You, Only You, Only You!

Walking out of the grave, Fear instilled in the brave, Fuelled  by revenge against the living, The anger within further brimming Deserted by his brothers, Comforted by the Satan himself, His soul down under shudders, As he breaks down himself His heart turning into stone,  His soul turning darker than coal, No one to hear his moan, Piece by piece, withering into the hole Broken beyond one's imagination, Flowing like the ashes post cremation, Turned to the devil for relief, Letting him feed on his grief Fuelled  by revenge, he grows stronger, Rising beyond the world's thunder, The devil's son has arisen through the grave, Striking fear into the living brave

Gazing away into emptiness, Darkness around taking control, No way out of that mess, Captured by the thought for eternity The idea of freedom planted for one, Spreading around like a virus, The state of autonomy, not that easily won, Just a spark in the fire for mutiny Awaiting the leader of the new order, To rise from the ashes of mystery, Leading the army across the border, Feeding their hunger for victory Darkness around losing control, Unable to keep the shackles locked, The fire wholly burns through, As the new world leader takes a stroll

Holding on to the memories, Each smile followed by tears, The absence taken away the music, Given in to all his fears Your presence defined his life, Without you, he's lost his heart, Your presence meant happiness, Without you, it all breaks apart His soul calls for you, Screaming into the void, The unbreakable bond between the two, Wherever you are, it can't be destroyed Eyes closed to see you next to him, The Silent Guardian everywhere, Yet everything around goes dim, As his eyes open to the lonely heir

Whole long walking in the dark, Lead miles away into wilderness, Eyes gazing around for the mark, To lead him out this darkness Locked away into the chest, His heart as cold as snow, Like a hatchling fallen off her nest, Helpless prey of the eternal foe The guiding light faded away, The tears stained the soul, Helplessly walking into the fray, Night after night, darker than coal Haphazard steps turning questions, Seeking answer with burning desire, Keeps requesting beyond depression, To be lead to her beyond the fire

It was August 22nd, the night, I was on my way to the flight, To hold your hand, hug you tight, But he took you away, took away my light Hearing your last words filled with pride, Unable to stop the tears slide, You're being missed in every breathe of our life, Our souls would forever remain tied No one could be such a pure soul, Touch so many lives with nothing but love, Can't help but take a lonely stroll, Down the path, with the void in my heart Dadima, most of my life, It's just been me & you there, If only you were still here, Helping me over all my fears If you could see me now, You would pat me on the back, Guide me towards the right track, Wish you could see me take my vows I'm trying to make you proud, Moving ahead with values you sowed, I hope you're up there with God, saying "That's my Kid!"

The Child within our heart, Caged long before he could live, The journey of vitality yet to start, Yet never hearing him crib Kindness springs in the heart of one, Spreading ahead like sapling growth, In the surfeit of sunlight above, Happy to grow towards the love The rage of life we're caught between, Unable to love, Unable to share, Life itself cannot be that mean, Just testing us & how we care Everybody running behind green paper, Too focused to slow down, All efforts turning to vapour, Only ourselves to blame for the frown But why not give up this lowly chase? Open your eyes to the horizon beyond Why not bring out the craze? Hold one's hands, bring back the bond Everybody wants to be loved, So why give up? Is the Dream really over, Or has it just begun?

Walking within the deep green foliage, Unaware of the challenges within, Unmindful of the camouflaged cage, Surrounded by the devil's grin Crashing down to the harsh reality, Too naive to follow through, Broken down by the monster's brutality, As his fears never cease to queue Curbed away into barbed wires, With no peaceful place to be, Waiting for hell to start the fires, So that he can break free

Strange thoughts begin to unveil, As the thunder initiates out loud, The light leaves behind a tapered trail, For followers among the crowd As glorious it looks among the dark, Fading away with the early dawn, But leaving abaft that serene spark, Burning with desire to build on As the colours of life begin to merge, And all his emotions start to converge, He's impelled to question the very thought, Of Sins & Secrets his spirit has brought And when he walks through that gate, Leaving behind his summed up fate, Reaching up to make his own destiny, He rises along in mutiny!
