A Million Faces

All these faces staring into blankness,
Each tells a different story of life,
From the one leading into darkness,
To the other in strife with his wife

He's wandering away into his dreams,
With eyes wide open but everything's a blur,
She's staring into the blue streams,
Undeterred by the million eyes on her,

With each stranger only into himself,
Silence takes over the entire journey,
Like books lying undisturbed over the shelf,
Dust takes over the lives like undergrowth ferny

I lay here, carrying the weight on my shoulder,
Which isn't mine to begin with,
And everything around gets colder,
As I close my eyes and travel into the myth
